I am super excited about this new project! I have been sitting on this story for many years, making notes, writing short scenes, developing characters, etc.
Once I involved my husband (who can belt out a novel in less than a month!), all the pieces started falling in place. This is going to be a fascinating, exciting novel about what happens when scientific inquiry meets a normal human being just trying to live their life.

The Maia Experiment
What would happen if you awoke to find everything the way it always was, but you were utterly alone? Scientists have long known that life as we know it will not last forever. They've spent centuries fine tuning a plan to save the human race when the human race is no more. So far they have been unable to find a suitable solution to the problem.
It was so very quiet. She’d thought she’d never get used to it, but she did. Now it was normal - the silence. There were still the birds at least. And all the creepy crawling things she had hated in her old life. Life went on – all around her she could hear the sounds of life. Just not human life. Thoughts of the emptiness that surrounded her clamored for attention but she pushed them outside the circle. That is how she saw it in her mind - a circle. Where only certain thoughts were allowed. To venture outside the circle meant insanity. She’d often thought - in those first days, weeks, of being so utterly alone - that insanity would be easier than living. But then something amazing happened and she realized that the comforting impending madness was not an option anymore.
